Pablo Jesús Marín García

I graduated with honors in Agricultural Engineering (2010) and Environmental Science (2012) from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). I then pursued three master’s degrees—Animal Conservation (UV), Animal Production (UPV), and Teaching (UV)— also with distinction. I was awarded several predoctoral fellowships, ultimately receiving the prestigious FPU fellowship, and completed my Ph.D. at UPV (2019). My doctoral thesis was awarded a cum laude distinction and received the International Mention. Following my doctorate, I secured a postdoctoral fellowship and obtained several competitive grants. I obtained national accreditation as “Profesor Titular” from 3 independent committees, then secured a Full Professor position at CEU University. I am the principal investigator (PI) and lead the research group “Nutrition: Production and Conservation”. I established a new multidisciplinary research line integrating multi-omics approaches into animal production and conservation. My career boasts 121 scientific contributions, including 64 papers in SCI journals (and 7 under revision), 37 communications to international meetings, primarily as oral presentations (80% as the first author), 5 invited lectures, and 7 edited books. Notably, 83% of my papers are in Q1/D1 journals, and 77% with preferential authorships (first, last and/or corresponding author). Metrics for my work indicate 806 citations (73% citations obtained in the last 3 years) with a rapidly increasing h-index of 16. As the PI, I secured funding for 14 projects (€429,000), led work packages in 3 projects (€4.26 M, e.g., SYNFEED, European), and participated as a collaborator in 15 projects (€11.34 M, e.g., Feed-a-Gene, European), demonstrating independence and leadership in the different research groups I have collaborated with. During my postdoc career, I have completed research stages at both international (3 years and 4 months) and national research centers (outside the scope of my doctoral thesis, 2 years and 10 months). Particularly relevant is my 3-year stay at the prestigious Aarhus University, where I have been trained in multi-omic studies. I also conducted research stays and participated in international institutions such as the University of Miami, Universidad de San Francisco de Quito, Università Degli Studi di Padova, and Patagonian Ecosystem Research Center. I also visited numerous other international institutions for shorter periods, these stages have allowed me to publish 26 papers, 6 oral presentations and 1 poster at international conferences, as 12 participations in projects with international groups. Cultivating collaborations with 31 research entities, 18 of which are international, building and leading an international network. This network yielded 8 last-author and 30 corresponding-author papers from the research line under my leadership. I have reviewed over 120 articles for 32 different journals, held guest editor roles, served as an evaluator on EU and international panels, and been invited as a chair, evaluator, and organizer of several meetings such as the 13th World Rabbit Congress, 12th European Conference on Precision Livestock Farming (currently on the committee), among others. I have been PI of 4 applied metabolomics transfer projects (€16,888) and collaborator in 6 academia–industry contracts focused on nutrition and process optimization (€41,762). I have served as a Technical Expert Evaluator for collaborative R&D projects with industry (3 different companies, €13,390). Furthermore, I have successfully secured funding as PI for private sector research in 9 projects (€130,000). I have served as a PI of a collaboration agreement with industry (Avanqua) and I have been invited speaker at the Life Iberconejo International Seminar, contributing to knowledge transfer in wild rabbit conservation. I currently manage a dissemination website with over 190,000 annual visits, and I have also authored 4 disclosure papers, and other scientific transfer actions. As a professor, I have delivered over 3,200 hours of official university studies across different degrees, courses, and universities (including international teaching experience). Additionally, I have supervised 18 bachelor’s, 8 MSc projects and 3 PhD students. Furthermore, I have led 2 educational innovation projects. Other merits include several awards from institutions like FEDNA, ASESCU, EAAP, and media coverage in outlets such as “Animal’s Health” and “20 minutos”.
