Anna Albiach Serrano

Anna Albiach Serrano es licenciada en Biología por la Universitat de València (UV) y doctora en Psicología por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), donde obtuvo la Mención Europea y el Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado por la Facultad de Psicología (2011-2012). Realizó sus estudios doctorales y postdoctorales en el Instituto Max Planck de Antropología Evolutiva (MPI-EVA) de Leipzig, Alemania, donde pasó varios años investigando la cognición animal, especialmente de los grandes simios, campo en el que ha contribuido con diversas publicaciones en revistas científicas internacionales y múltiples comunicaciones presentadas en congresos tanto nacionales como internacionales. Ha realizado estancias y establecido colaboraciones con centros extranjeros como el Instituto de Investigación con Primates (PRI), de la Universidad de Kyoto, Japón, y la Estación de Campo Konrad Lorenz (KLF), asociada a la Universidad de Viena, Austria. Actualmente es profesora colaboradora doctora en la Universidad Cardenal Herrera CEU de Valencia, donde imparte clases de Método Científico, Zoología, Etología y Biodiversidad y Medio Ambiente a alumnos tanto nacionales como internacionales. Además, colabora como docente en el Máster de Primatología de la Universitat de Barcelona (UB) (hasta el 2023-2024 de la Fundació de la Universitat de Girona y la Fundació MONA) impartiendo clases sobre Cognición de Primates. Su actividad investigadora se desarrolla dentro de la Unidad de Etología y Bienestar Animal (UEBA), CEU. Su interés se centra principalmente en el estudio de los procesos cognitivos que subyacen al comportamiento animal, tanto en el ámbito físico como en el de las relaciones sociales.

Anna Albiach Serrano holds a 5-yr degree in Biology from the University of Valencia (UV) and a PhD in Psychology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), where she was awarded the European Doctorate Mention and the Extraordinary Doctorate Award (2011–2012). She completed her doctoral and postdoctoral studies at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology (MPI-EVA) in Leipzig, Germany, where she spent several years researching animal cognition, particularly that of great apes. In this field, she has contributed with numerous publications in international scientific journals and presentations at both national and international conferences. She has undertaken research stays and established collaborations with international institutions such as the Primate Research Institute (PRI) of Kyoto University, Japan, and the Konrad Lorenz Field Station (KLF), affiliated with the University of Vienna, Austria. She is currently an Assistant Professor at CEU Cardenal Herrera University in Valencia, where she teaches Scientific Method, Zoology, Ethology, and Biodiversity and the Environment to both national and international students. Additionally, she collaborates as a lecturer in the Master's in Primatology program at the University of Barcelona (UB) (until the 2023–2024 academic year offered by the University of Girona Foundation and the MONA Foundation), where she teaches courses on Primate Cognition. Her research activity is carried out within the Ethology and Animal Welfare Unit (UEBA) at CEU. Her main research interest lies in the study of cognitive processes underlying animal behavior, both in the physical and in the social domains.
