María Dolores Llobat Bordes

Dr. Lola Llobat is a Senior Researcher and Full Professor in the Genetics department with over 20 years of experience in molecular biology, animal health, and parasitic zoonoses. She holds a degree in Biology from the University of Valencia (2003) and two Master of Science degrees from CIHEAM and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (2009). She earned her PhD in Animal Genetic Improvement and Biotechnology with the highest distinction (Cum Laude, 2012), thanks to a predoctoral FPI-UPV grant. Her research career began in 2003 in molecular biology, focusing on HIV sequencing and antiviral resistance. She later extended these tools to cancer and thrombotic disease research during her postdoctoral stay at the Margarita Salas Research Center of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) (2012-2014). Subsequently, she served as Deputy Scientific Director of the La Fe Health Research Institute, contributing to securing competitive national and international funding. Dr. Llobat is the author of over 70 peer-reviewed scientific publications in high-impact journals indexed in the Journal Citation Reports (Q1-Q2) and has presented numerous papers at national and international conferences. Since 2016, she has collaborated with the European Commission as an expert evaluator for the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programs, and also participates as an external reviewer for various international funding agencies (Poland, Argentina, Slovakia, among others). She is currently a Full Professor of Genetics at CEU Cardenal Herrera University (UCH-CEU) and an active member of the Association of Women Researchers and Technologists (AMIT), the Spanish Genetics Society (SEG), and the European Association of Animal Science (EAAP). She serves on the editorial boards of several international journals indexed in the Journal Citation Reports. Dr. Llobat is accredited by ANECA as a Full Professor in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Animal Health, and has been awarded two six-year research periods by CNEAI. She is the principal investigator of several competitive research projects (including one national and three regional) and participates in two European COST Actions: ENVIRANT (CA23154) and OneHealthdrugs (CA21111). Her international experience includes research stays and collaborations with institutions in Germany, Denmark, Italy, Chile, and Ecuador. She leads the research group "Molecular Mechanisms of Parasitic Zoonoses (MMOPS)," focused on the immune response to Leishmania infection, and is currently supervising three doctoral theses. She also actively collaborates on omics-based research (genomics and metabolomics) in animal production and biodiversity conservation.

La Dra. Lola Llobat es Investigadora Senior y Profesora Titular del área de Genética con más de 20 años de experiencia en biología molecular, sanidad animal y zoonosis parasitarias. Es licenciada en Biología por la Universitat de València (2003) y tiene dos Másteres en Ciencias por el CIHEAM y la Universitat Politècnica de València (2009). Obtuvo su doctorado en Mejora Genética Animal y Biotecnología con la máxima calificación (Cum Laude, 2012), gracias a una beca predoctoral FPI-UPV. Su carrera investigadora comenzó en 2003 en biología molecular, centrándose en la secuenciación del VIH y la resistencia a los antivirales, extendiendo posteriormente estas herramientas a la investigación del cáncer y las enfermedades trombóticas durante su estancia postdoctoral en el Centro de Investigación Margarita Salas del CSIC (2012-2014). Posteriormente, ejerció como Subdirectora Científica del Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria La Fe, contribuyendo a la obtención de financiación competitiva nacional e internacional. La Dra. Llobat es autora de más de 70 publicaciones científicas con revisión por pares en revistas de alto impacto indexadas en el JCR (Q1-Q2) y ha presentado numerosos trabajos en congresos nacionales e internacionales. Desde 2016, colabora con la Comisión Europea como evaluadora experta para los programas H2020 y Horizonte Europa, y también participa como revisora externa para diversas agencias internacionales de financiación (Polonia, Argentina, Eslovaquia, entre otras). Actualmente es Profesora Titular de Genética en la Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera (UCH-CEU) y miembro activo de la Asociación de Mujeres Investigadoras y Tecnólogas (AMIT), la Sociedad Española de Genética (SEG) y la Federación Europea de Ciencia Animal (EAAP). Forma parte de los consejos editoriales de varias revistas internacionales indexadas en el JCR. La Dra. Llobat está acreditada por la ANECA como Profesora Titular Universitaria en Biología Molecular y Celular y en Sanidad Animal, y cuenta con dos sexenios de investigación otorgados por la CNEAI.
