Master's Degree in Architecture: Programme

The Master’s Degree qualifies graduates for the professional practice of architecture and aims to provide complementary and advanced knowledge to that acquired in the Bachelor’s Degree in Fundamentals of Architecture.

Programme

The Master’s Degree in Bilingual Education (English and Spanish) has a duration of one academic year and comprises 60 ECTS credits. You can explore the subjects included in our Study Plan.

End-of-Master´s Degree Project

For the End-of-Master’s Degree Project, or TFM, students must undertake a project or research study which draws on and examines different explanations, theories, and ideas with regard to a specific issue. By doing so, students will learn how to plan a process, to apply research principles and skills (literature searches, data analysis and interpretation, etc.), to engage in problem-solving in an autonomous manner and to communicate and defend their point of view efficiently and professionally.

  • SC1-TEC - Ability to conceive, calculate, design, execute, and integrate structures into buildings and urban settings.

  • SC2-TEC - Ability to conceive, calculate, design, execute and integrate interior divisions, stairs, wooden structures and other interior items into buildings and urban settings.

  • SC3-TEC - Ability to conceive, calculate, design, execute and integrate the façade, roof and other large-scale items into buildings and urban settings.

  • SC4-TEC - Ability to conceive, calculate, design, execute and integrate the facilities required for plumbing, heating and ventilation into buildings and urban settings.

Specific competencies - module with practical training

  • SC5-PRA - Ability to conceive, develop and carry out basic projects, sketches and proposals.

  • SC6-PRO - Ability to conceive, develop and carry out urban developments.

  • SC7-PRO - Ability to conceive, develop and carry out site management.

  • SC8-PRO - Ability to draw up functional programmes for buildings and urban spaces.

  • SC9-PRO - Ability to intervene, preserve, restore and rehabilitate heritage buildings.

  • SC10-PRO - Ability to perform an architectural critique.

  • SC11-PRO - Ability to draw up and administer urban plans at any scale.

  • SC12-PRO - Ability to employ digital tools to create, modify and process images at any and all stages of the project development process.

Specific skills - End-of-Master’s Degree Project Module

  • SC13-EMP - Ability to bring together the knowledge and skills acquired during one’s architectural training to create a single, comprehensive project.
