The student's first working experiences are normally carried out within the university's facilities, which rigorously reconstruct the future professional scenarios of the different degree courses. In addition to this, the university also arranges professional training experiences for our students in both Spanish and international institutions.

During their academic years, students have the opportunity to study at other European universities under the Erasmus+ scheme, as well as other national and international exchange programmes.

University CEU Cardenal Herrera currently has more than 250 bilateral agreements signed with European universities. In addition, we have signed various agreements with universities in America.

Our Mobility Office organizes informative sessions throughout the academic year to keep our students up-to-date with the latest international learning opportunities offered to them. They also provide an efficient, close-at-hand support to our outgoing students.

  • We inform you that we do not accept more applications for the following degrees:Fisioterapia (campuses Valencia and Elche), Veterinaria (Spanish group), Médecine Vétérinaire (French group), Veterinary (English group), Odontología (Spanish group), Dentistry (first year),  Medicine(First year), Medicina (first year), Energy EngineeringDigital Communication and Ingeniería Informática de Sistemas de Información (degree in Spanish).

1. Admission form

To start the admission process, you need to complete an on-line form, indicating your personal information and studying preferences.

The form will also give you the opportunity to provide us with any useful academic documentation that will allow us to verify that you meet the academic requirements.

You should upload all of the documents on the admission process application. Be careful when uploading the documents, make sure they correspond to the ones requested.

Once the admission form has been filled in, you will receive an e-mail with the username and password to access your future student intranet.

2. Future Student Intranet

You can access your intranet by clicking here.

In this intranet you will find the information concerning your application status. You can also modify your personal details, change your interview appointment and download your place reservation form once admitted.

3. Personal Interview

On your personal application form you will be able to choose a date and time for an Admissions Interview with the International Relations Office, which will take place on-line via Skype or face-to-face.

This interview along with your qualifications, will determine if you meet the requirements needed to study at CEU-UCH. Your application will be thoroughly evaluated by our International Admissions Commission and 48 hours after your interview you will be notified about your application status by e-mail.

4. Application Status

This notification will inform you of either of the following possibilities:

  • You have been selected and there is a place available for you. In this case you will receive an admission letter including the instructions for the place reservation.
  • You are now on the waiting list for a place. As soon as there is a place available, you will be informed by e-mail.
  • You have not been selected.

Successful candidates will be asked to settle the amount corresponding to the place reservation.

5. Place reservation and registration

Once you have been admitted, you will be able to access the future student intranet and print the reservation form.

In this document there are two options:

  • Place reservation + Hospitality Package.
  • Place reservation + Hospitality Package + Medical Health Insurance

Please carefully read the rules of admission and administration of the university.

Be careful! If you don't settle the payment before the due date, your application will be dismissed.

There are two possible options. Please choose the one that best reflects your situation:

You have studied in Spain in a centre that uses the education system of an EU country

You have a European Baccalaureate or an International Baccalaureate

You have studied outside of Spain in a centre operating with the Education System of one of the following countries: Germany, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the UK, the Czech Republic, Romania, Sweden, and Switzerland. 

If this is the case, you will be able to enrol without having to sit the university entrance exam (PAU). You should get in touch with UNED (National University of Distance Learning) in order to get your accreditation in order to access university. This will be done through us directly. If you are in one of the situations above and you have also sat the university entrance exam (PAU) or another type of admissions test you will also be able to enrol without having your qualifications validated.

CFGS
Advanced vocational qualification (CFGS) or FPII obtained in Spain

In order to enrol at CEU Cardenal Herrera University you will only need to have completed your qualification.

You will apply with all types of CFGS but, in the case that the course is oversubscribed, preference will be given to students whose qualifications are related to the subject they wish to study. 
In addition, CEU Cardenal Herrera University offers you the possibility to have some of the credits you have already taken for the Vocational Qualification recognised, in order for you to obtain a validation of the subjects you wish to study.

You have already completed your university qualifications abroad

Regardless of the country where you completed your university qualifications; you will need to have your qualification validated in order to be able to enroll at CEU Cardenal Herrera University. The validation is a procedure that will be carried out by the Ministry of Education. There are two types of procedures:

  • Validation of a degree: this a very quick process that is aimed at those wishing to access the Spanish University system
  • Validation of the professional purposes of a qualification obtained abroad: this is a longer more complicated process and is aimed at those who believe their qualification has the same value in Spain as abroad.

The current regulations allow us to admit students on a conditional basis if we do not yet have a response from the Ministry of Education. This allows students to begin the course at the start of the year.

See conditional admission

In order to get students beginning classes as soon as possible, the law allows them to have a conditional admission. This will mean the student will be able to register at the university without handing in/having all the required documents. This special type of agreement between CEU-UCH and the student is agreed through the following rules and conditions:

  • You will only be able to apply for this status under the conditions of the Education Law LOMCE
  • The student will take on this status voluntarily and under their own responsibility
  • An essential requirement is that the student bring/hands in proof to CEU Cardenal Herrera University that they have requested the credential/validation/official approval of their documents by the Ministry of Education or equivalent
  • The student’s enrolment will not be confirmed and will not take full academic effect until the Ministry of Education or equivalent approves their request and the student has provided the Administration Office with proof of this decision
  • During the time that the student has ‘conditional admission’ status, the student will have the same rights and responsibilities as other CEU-UCH students, except the following:
    • Until their enrolment has been made official they will not be able to receive any type of Certificate of their results or qualification from CEU-UCH that reflects the studies they are currently doing.
    • Until the student is officially enrolled they will not be able to request an academic record transfer to another Spanish university
    • In all certificates or documents that may be produced by CEU-UCH for the student they will have to certify that the student is of ‘conditional admission’ status.
  • As the student takes on voluntarily the status of ‘conditional admission’ they accept the risk that, ultimately, the Ministry of Education could refuse their request. If this situation occurs, the student will have to leave the university at the end of the semester, without claiming any compensation from CEU-UCH. The university will not be able to produce an academic certificate given that the student did not complete the legal requirements for accessing the university.
  • If the Ministry of Education or authorities deny the student’s request, CEU-UCH will not be able to refund any payments made for the enrolment, academic procedures, or any other type of payment, regardless of the time and /or the course the student concerned has taken.
Started Univ
University Qualifications started but not completed

In order to continue your studies, there are two possible options. Please select the one that best reflects your situation.

Qualifications begun in Spain

a transfer of your academic record is needed to continue studying. 
If you have studied in another Spanish university, you will need to have passed a minimum of 30 ECTS points in order to transfer to UCH-CEU. In order to certify this, you will need to send/bring the following documents.

  • An Official Certificate of your results
  • The syllabuses of the subjects you have passed and wish to validate 

Documents needed (ONLY WHEN ENROLLING)

  • A Certificate proving you have passed the university entrance exam
  • A document proving that you have requested a transfer of your academic record from your home university (for this they need the CEU-UCH Admissions Document)
  • An official copy of your results
  • A photocopy of your DNI (if you are Spanish) or of your passport
  • Two passport sized photos
  • A bank details form (available on the Future Student Intranet)
  • If you have Large Family Status, please bring the original and a copy of your card and current Large Family Status book.
  • Residency Regulations and University Administration Regulations. Please familiarise yourself with these regulations as you will be asked to sign a copy of these when enrolling

Qualifications begun abroad: A Partial Validation of Foreign Qualifications is needed to continue your studies. 

If you have begun university qualifications abroad you will need to have passed a minimum of 20 ECTS points in order to get a Partial Validation of Foreign Qualifications. In order to certify this, you will need to send/bring the following documents.

  • An Official Certificate of your results and content of your course
  • The syllabuses of the subjects you have passed and wish to validate 

It is a relatively simple process but it is better to get in touch with us so we can give you more specific advice (admission@uchceu.es). This will make the process quicker for you and help you to begin classes quicker.

For example, we will be able to give you more information as well as the details you need to include in your documents you need to bring (Number of ECTS points, qualification system etc.) and/or language and validation requirements (legal translations, authorisation etc.).

WARNING: If you wish to study Medicine/Medicina/Dentistry you will need to send us the documents before 30th June.

If this is the case, you will not be able to carry out a conditional admission, hence the importance of handing in the documents on time.

If you have not achieved the number of credit points required you will need to provide us with a copy of your baccalaureate or equivalent qualification obtained in your home country.

25/45/40 years old
Mature Students, 25 - 40 years old

In order to gain access to a degree course matures students aged between 25-40 years old

Documents needed (ONLY WHEN ENROLLING)

  • A Certificate proving you have passed the university entrance exam
  • A document proving that you have requested a transfer of your academic record from your home university (for this they need the CEU-UCH Admissions Document)
  • An official copy of your results
  • A photocopy of your DNI (if you are Spanish) or of your passport
  • Two passport sized photos
  • A bank details form (available on the Future Student Intranet)
  • If you have Large Family Status, please bring the original and a copy of your card and current Large Family Status book.
  • Residency Regulations and University Administration Regulations. Please familiarise yourself with these regulations as you will be asked to sign a copy of these when enrolling
Mature Students over 40 with job experiences related to the degree they want to study.

If this is the case, you will need to provide us with a written application, to which you should attach your employment history as well as your CV. This way of accessing university is reserved for those who will be at least 40 years old before the 1st October of the academic year in which you wish to enrol.

The Academic Commission of the Faculty to which you are applying will evaluate your application and will inform you of their decision.

Hospitality Service

The services included in the Hospitality Package are offered to international students for the payment of the International Fee and are intended to help them get settled upon their arrival. Once the reservation of place has been paid, students will have access to these services through the Hospitality App, so that they can make use of them at any moment they wish to. The Hospitality Package includes:

Presentation

  • Accommodation services. Via the Hospitality Service we can help you to find your future accommodation, by showing you the range of deals available through our partners, and by assisting you in booking a visit for the flats that appeal to you. The list of offers includes both shared flats and dormitories, but also individual apartments can be found. The offers available are located around our campus or in the center of Valencia, depending on your preferences.
  • Mobile phone. You will be provided with a Spanish sim card upon arrival, which will allow you to call and to surf the internet for your first two months here. With this sim card, you can use up till 60 SMS, 1.2 GB internet and 60 minutes of calls per month. Furthermore, free calls can be made and free texts can be sent to all users from the same provider. You can apply for the sim card through the Hospitality Application, thereby indicating the date on which you want it to be activated. It should be noted that, to be able to use this SIM card, it is necessary that your phone is SIM lock free.
  • Opening a bank account in Spain. With the Hospitality Package you are offered the possibility to open a free bank account at Santander bank, which is the biggest bank in Spain and has an office located on our campus. Having a Spanish bank account enables you to take care of your payments in Spain (such as the payment of the tuition fee and the rent) and provides you with a Spanish debit card. You can apply for the bank account via the Hospitality Application. Once we have set a date, the Hospitality Office will accompany you for a visit to the bank to assist you in signing the contract.
  • Managing the academic documentation. To be enrolled in a Spanish university, international students must obtain a document that proves they have successfully completed their secondary education. This document is known as Credencial for European students (and from other countries with an agreement), and as Homologation for the rest. As we are aware that arranging the necessary paperwork in a foreign country can be a difficult process, we will assist you by informing you about the required documents, make the application on your behalf and pay for the required fees.
  • Managing the residence documents. We will help you to organize the documentation you will need to legalize your stay in Spain. The NIE (also known as 'Número de Identificación de Extranjeros), is an identification number for foreigners that reside in Spain. Without this number, you will not be able to arrange all of your activities during your stay in Spain: it is needed to close a contract for your WIFI, to pay for your water- and electricity bills, and is also often required to make certain purchases. As obtaining a NIE number can take a lot of time and effort, the Hospitality Service will help you to collect your documents and will make an appointment for you at the police station.
  • Pick up service and accommodation for the first night: You will be able to book a taxi that will pick you up from the airport or station at the day of your arrival and that will bring you to a hotel, where you will be able to spend a free night in a hotel for up to three persons. You will be able to select the desired date via the Hospitality Application.
  • Language courses. After your admission, you will have access to an online platform where you can improve your Spanish (or other preferred language if Spanish is your first language). You also have the possibility to attend a Spanish course during the summer period, organized at various levels to enable each student to start at their own pace. Additionally, you are able to participate in Spanish courses throughout the year. 
  • Transportation. We will provide you with a Móbilis card that enables you to use bus, metro and tram during your first days in Valencia.
  • Touristic information and culture. When arriving to our University, you will be given various brochures and tourist information that will help you to explore and get to know the city and your new surroundings. During the first weeks at the University we also organize various leisure activities that will help you integrate into the Spanish culture.
  • Optional medical insurance. You will be given the option to choose for a private insurance with ADESLAS, which offers comprehensive health coverage in Spain, for the duration of 1 year. The cost of this assurance is € 400 for a period of 12 months. You can request for the ADESLAS health insurance via the Hospitality Application.

International Air connections to Valencia

living in Valencia (SPAIN)

Manises Airport is located just 8 km outside the city centre and can be reached by a direct metro link. The city is connected to 19 other Spanish cities, and up to 34 European and 2 intercontinental, Istanbul and Moscow, cities.

An extensive motorway network links Valencia with all major destinations within Spain and Europe.

In terms of railways, the new AVE high speed train link covers the 391 km between Valencia and Madrid in 1 hour and 35 minutes, and links Valencia with Sevilla and Malaga in 4 and Cordoba in 3 hours. The new Joaquin Sorolla long-distance train terminal handles some 15 high-speed trains per day. The new station is well connected to both Estación del Norte, the local network terminal, and to the port and airport. The Euromed service, which connects with Barcelona, and the Alvia also stops at the new station.

The Mediterranean is another gateway to arrive to the city, traveling on one of the many cruise ships that dock and depart from the Royal Juan Carlos I Marina.

Valencia is a favourite destination for Erasmus students

Spain remains the favourite destination for European students for participating in the Erasmus exchange programme and it is also the country that sends the most students to other Member States.

Weather in Valencia

Valencia has one of the mildest climates in Europe. It is characterized by a mild, typically Mediterranean climate, with an average annual temperature above 17ºC. Summers are warm and winters are very mild (during the winter months the temperature rarely falls below 10°C).

Rainfall is minimal and in the classic Mediterranean pattern, higher rainfalls in autumn, late winter and early spring.

The months of July and August can be very hot, especially in the windy west. At this time we recommend to wear hats and suncream.

Accommodation

CEU-UCH assists international students to find the best option for accommodation.

The University itself does not have University residences but we have agreements with residences in order to offer our international students the best prices.

If you are going to study an international degree, you can purchase the hospitality package, which includes accommodation services such as the first night of your arrival in a hotel) and assistance to find accommodation.

Transport

Metro Valencia runs fairly regular services with trains approximately every 15 minutes and every 10 minutes at peak times. To get to the University take line 1 (the yellow line) in the direction of Seminari-CEU or Bétera. For the Faculty of Social, Legal and Communication Sciences (Alfara II) and the Technical School (Alfara I) disembark at the metro stops Moncada-Alfara or Seminari-CEU

Health Insurance

European Health Insurance Card - EHIC

It is compulsory that all EU students have the European Health Insurance Card.

The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is a free card that gives you access to medically necessary, state-provided healthcare during a temporary stay in any of the 27 EU countries, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.

If you are an international student, you can add insurance to the hospitality package for your first 12 months in Spain. The additional costs amount to 400€.

I want to study Medicine; do I have to take an exam?

 Yes, our agency partners will give you all the information.

Are there minimum grades required for studying at CEU-UCH?

If you wish to study medicine or dentistry, yes. For medicine, you will need to have achieved at least 70% in your most recent qualifications, depending on what the highest mark you can achieve is. For dentistry, it is 66%. In case you want to study the bilingual Veterinary Medicine degree in Englis/Spanish you need a minimum mark of 60%.

For the rest of the courses there are no minimum grade requirements, however we will check your academic record to be sure we have all the information needed to be able to offer you a place.

Moreover, the admission committee will review your application. If you wish to study Veterinary Medicine in French, a preparation year in Sciences is a plus.

The first payment (Place reservation and Hospitality package) will be via international bank transfer and once in Spain you will pay monthly via direct debit with your Spanish bank account .

What is the Hospitality Package and why should I pay for it?

The Hospitality Package covers a wide range of services for first-year international students. 

The Hospitality Package is mandatory for all international students who live outside Spain, regardless of the degree they have chosen. The payment is not applicable to students with a DNI or NIE number which they obtained at least one year before their application to study in our university.

What is an Open Day?

An Open Day is a certain day appointed by the university in which visitors are welcome to attend several presentations and visit our facilities. And the most important of all: they can meet our staff, get first-hand information and start getting familiar with our university. Participation in our Open Days is free.

University CEU Cardenal Herrera offers a part-time assistantship for a period of 8 months (or more) from 1st of November 2016 to 30th of May 2017.

Reporting to the Rectorate, successful candidates will work 15 hours/week supporting the Communications, Admission, Hospitality and Integration teams.

Work Area

The selected candidates will play an essential role when communicating with prospective and admitted students:

  • To interact with the current, former students, and staff members of the university in order to generate joint work dynamics.
  • To strengthen the sense of belonging and motivation of the students of the University.

Financial Aid Excellence Program

Granting the aid

The Comisión de Ayudas of the CEU San Pablo University Foundation for the Financial Aid Excellence Programme of CEU UCH is the commission who determines the awarding of the support to the candidates. The decision of the commission will be communicated through the established means of CEU-UCH and will not be open to appeal.

Request and merits requirement for the grant

Request: all the international students who have an average grade of 8.5 in first year of baccalaureate or equivalent (penultimate year of university access preparation) can request the aid.

To be able to grant the support, the commission will study the relevant merits for the assessment of the candidates:

  • To have a higher grade than the rest of the candidates and a grade that the commission values as excellent.
  • To certify the proficiency of one or several languages. For the purpose of level certification, commonly used standards and certificates will be accepted.
  • The social and extracurricular activities developed by the candidate. In this sense, the candidate will be able to submit: the documentation that is considered to certify their activity and/or letters of recommendation from the people who were responsible for the development of the activity.

Candidates, deadlines and basic procedure

The deadline for the CEU UCH Financial Aid Excellence Programme application is the 30th June 2016 inclusive. All the candidates who are not of Spanish nationality can submit an application in the admission process in some of the CEU-UCH university degrees. In order to request them, candidates must:

  • Arrange an admission interview for the degree that you are interested in studying through the form on www.uchceu.es.
  • After the interview the candidate will receive, where appropriate, the admission document with the instructions for carrying out the registration.
  • Once the admission document has been received, the registration payment must be made according to the fixed amount, which can be confirmed in the official rates of the University.
  • 4. After carrying out the three previous procedures, the candidate will be able to request the financial support by emailing all documents required to viri2@uchceu.es.

Decision of the support and benefits

On the 1st July 2016, the candidates will be notified of the decision of the CEU Financial Aid Excellence Programme through the established means of communication.

4.1. Granting the aid implies that the candidate will benefit from a discount of up to 50% on the academic fees (total price of the year) for the first year of the degree that they have chosen. This reduction will be maintained for all the years of their degree as long as the fixed conditions in point 5 are maintained. If the students are going to study a double degree, the grant is applied to the first degree.

Granting this aid will be secured after the announcement even if the candidate has not yet presented the credential or equivalent homologation of access qualification, but that documentation will still need to be certified so that the University access conditions are fulfilled.

4.2 The circumstances of academic planning of a degree can advise against announcing the granting of the support for that degree on the fixed date. This particular possibility will be informed to the applicants of the financial support for that degree at the beginning of June and upon doing so they will be told the new announcement date. Before this new date the candidate will be able, if they wish, to withdraw from the process and request a refund of the inscription fee. A refund under these circumstances is guaranteed.

4.3 If a candidate is not granted any support or the maximum of the requested support (up to 50% of a reduction), they will have fourteen calendar days from the announcement date to request a refund for the paid amount from the registration. This will mean:

  • 1. That the candidate carries out the refund request within the window of the fourteen calendar days by emailing financialaid@uchceu.es indicating that they wish to leave the admission process due to not having obtained the CEU Financial Aid Excellence Programme support. It is the candidate’s responsibility to check on the 1st July and following days if they have received the notification through the designated method stating whether or not they have been granted the aid. Therefore, they will not be able to claim that they have not received the notification to extend the refund period beyond the fixed fourteen days. CEU UCH will have records of the date and time that they sent the decision announcement. The refund will always be made in euros.
  • 2. That the University guarantees the refund of the payment if the application is submitted within the stated fourteen days. The refund deadline is the 15th July at 23:59.
  • 3. That once the refund has been made, the student will lose the place that they had reserved upon registering as well as the registration rights.

Conditions of the CEU financial assistance

5.1 To be maintained within this support programme and thus continue benefitting from the reduction of academic rates established in the grant allocation, the student must meet the total number of ECTS credits registered each year. For the renewal of the Financial Aid Excellence Programme grant, the student must have an average minimum grade of 7.5 points out of 10 in the year according to the qualification criteria and calculation of average grade stated by the General Secretary of the University. Having this average grade means that the aid will automatically be renewed for the following year. The criterion will be the same in the case of students who are studying double degrees, which will mean that they must have the fixed average grade for all the registered credits.

5.2 The price for the beneficiary of a CEU-UCH Financial Aid Excellence Programme aid will be, throughout their studies, fixed for the year in which they entered the University and its possible increase, if produced, will correspond with the increase of the general cost for the rest of students on the official tariffs.

5.3 The beneficiary commits him/herself to collaborating in the University’s activity diffusion initiatives and actions of educational value aimed at students. The beneficiary’s collaboration with the University will be announced with enough time in advance, coordinated by the corresponding area of the University and it will imply the usage of their abilities and competencies. These collaborations of the beneficiary with CEU-UCH activities will not take up more than 30 hours per year, unless they express consent, and they will not be able to interfere with education activities and/or beneficiary student evaluation.

5.4 If the student is a beneficiary of any Honour Roll during their studies in the University, the discount will be calculated within the grant that the student already has from the CEU-UCH Financial Aid Excellence Programme. Therefore, it cannot be an additional factor. In any case, the most economically beneficial option will be applied for the student.

5.5 The beneficiary’s condition of a CEU aid from this programme will be lost if:

  • Any of the cases referred to in the academic discipline within the Student Regulations are incurred.
  • The student is found to be in a situation of non-payment.

5.6 The granting of a CEU Aid from this programme is incompatible with the awarding of the other SAN Pablo CEU University Foundation and CEU Cardenal Herrera University supports. Therefore, there may not be accumulative effects between them. If for any reason a candidate received the grant of a CEU-UCH Financial Excellence Programme aid and any other aid from the San Pablo CEU University Foundation, they should report it and choose one to benefit from.

Technical request process for the financial assistance

The application will be presented via email to viri2@uchceu.es and once registration has been formalised. Therefore, the request is carried out after the candidate’s admission interview and registration formalisation.

Therefore, the candidate must apply via email with the following attached documents:

  • 1. Academic documentation:
    • i. For the application: academic certification from the penultimate year of education before university and the average grade from it.
    • ii. Before the end of the applications window it is necessary to complete the academic documentation with the average grade of the final year of education before university.
  • 2. Languages: attach certified documents, where appropriate, of language level (optional).
  • 3. Social and cultural activities: attach official documents of social and extracurricular activities (optional).
  • 4. Appendix I: Identification document “Appendix I”, attached to this financial aid excellence program rules that identify the new student.

Important: at the time of the granting of the aid and of the registration, originals or authenticated copies of all the documentation that has been submitted to the application will be requested. If at that time there is inconsistency between the documents or they cannot be provided, the candidate will lose the support grant.

The Comisión de Ayudas indicated abilities

The Comisión de ayudas is the only body with the ability to interpret and apply the gathered information to these conditions. The Comission will be able to declare one or more support requests for a degree void if they consider it so after the evaluation of the candidates’ profiles.
